My name is Asha Oguri, and I am your Residence Life Warden at Montague Burton. Montague Burton is (and I promise, I am not biased) a fantastic hall of residence, with a great sense of community. You will be living nice and close to the University’s campus and supported by a fantastic team of four Residence Life Assistants (RLAs).
A little about me… I am originally from London and moved to Leeds for my undergraduate degree in BA Social Policy. I graduated in 2019, and never left! I love Leeds and I hope you will too. In short, myself and the RLAs are here to ensure you make the most of your time at Montague Burton. We are here to help you navigate your new home city and meet new people, and our aim is always to make Montague Burton your ‘home away from home’. If you ever face anything that troubles you or if you just need a friendly face to talk to - we are here to help.
While you're at Montague Burton, I encourage you to consider joining our Social Committee! Last year’s team had an amazing time planning events and making a real difference in our hall’s community - from cinema nights and game nights to pizza parties and even community litter picks. It's a great way to meet people, develop valuable skills, and have a lot of fun along the way. The 2024–25 committee made such an incredible impact that they won two awards at the Annual Hall Awards: Best Social Committee and Event of the Year. Could the next winners be you?
