Welcome Fair & Mixer (Mandatory)
Monday 22nd September 3pm - 6pm
Outside James Baillie Reception
Mandatory Welcome fair. Free food and drinks will be provided for those attending!
The area outside James Baillie Park is wheelchair accessible.
How this event will run: The welcome fair involves 8 or 9 stalls containing useful information about living in residences. Students need to listen to the information at each stall, and at the end they can enter a raffle. There will also be games and free snacks at the different stalls. It will take less than 1 hour to complete all the stalls. Students can ask questions. This event is mandatory for residents.
Speed Friending
Wednesday 24th September 7pm - 8pm
James Baillie Common Room
Join in for a chance to meet people from your residence!
James Baillie Common room is wheelchair accessible. There are accessible toilets in the common room.
How will this event run: This event is an opportunity to meet people from your residences by ‘speedfriending’. This involves talking to one person at a time for a short amount of time, and rotating around the room until you have spoken to nearly everyone individually.
North Hill Court Mixer
Friday 26th September 9pm - 11pm
North Hill House
Meet new people over free food and drinks!
North Hill House is located on the ground floor with wheelchair access.
How will this event run: This is a free event that does not require a ticket. You can arrive at any time between 9pm - 11pm. This is an opportunity to meet other students living at North Hill Court. You can leave at any time.

Catch up Warden Welcome Talk & Food

You will be invited to this event via University email if you were not able to attend the mandatory welcome fair

How this event will run: This talk from your Residence Life Warden involves a presentation for approximately an hour, which explains important information about living in residences, support and opportunities. If students were not able to attend the mandatory welcome fair, they will be invited via University email to attend a catch-up welcome talk at Devonshire Hall. Students will meet at James Baillie Park Reception and walk over to Devonshire (less than 10 minutes walk) for the talk. There will be free food and drinks available for those attending the talk.
