Freshers Events Calendar for Central Village

RLA Welcome Mixer 

Saturday 13th September 6pm 

Central Village Common Room 

Welcome mixer with your Residence Life Assistants who will be running this event.

Common Room is fully wheelchair accessible.


How this event will run: This is an optional event and tickets are not required. You will have an opportunity to meet and socialise with the students living in Central Village. You can leave at any point.

Discover Leeds: City Walking Tour 

Thursday 18th September 5pm 

Meet in Central Village Courtyard. Sign up is required.

Meet new people from your accommodation and discover more of Leeds City Centre.

Sign up form is pending! 

How this event will run: This is an optional event and sign up is required via the form linked on this page. You will be greeted by your warden and set off on a walk around Leeds. This event will allow you to learn more about Leeds and provide an opportunity to meet students also living in Central Village. You will need to join the event at the start time of 5pm.

Saturday 20th September 1pm - 4pm

Come along for free BBQ! 

Central Village Courtyard is fully wheelchair accessible.


How this event will run: This is an optional event and tickets are not required. Free BBQ food will be served from 1 pm. You will have an opportunity to meet and socialise with the students living in Central Village. You can stay for as long as you would like and leave at any point.

How this event will run: This is an optional event and tickets are not required. Free drinks will be served from 5pm. You will have an opportunity to meet and socialise with the students living in Central Village. You can stay for as long as you would like and leave at any point.


Mandatory Welcome Talk for Blocks A, B & C

Monday September 22nd 7 pm - 9 pm 

The Refectory, LUU

Welcome talks from your warden followed by a free meal in The Refectory

Entry to venue: The Refectory is accessible via a ramp at the front entrance, and inside the venue there is step free access throughout.

 

Accessible toilet: An accessible toilet is located inside Leeds University Union in the foyer area, near to the Refectory.


How this event will run: This talk from your Residence Life Warden involves a presentation for approximately an hour which explains important information about living in residences, support and opportunities. This event will include dinner and drinks and will encourage socialising, chatting and meeting other people from your residence. The talk is mandatory for all residents. 


Quiet space if needed:  Meeting Room 1, accessible by a lift outside the Refectory.

Residence Life Social Committee Information Session

Sunday 28th September 6pm - 7pm 

Central Village Common Room

Information session to find out more about becoming a part of the Residence Life social Committee for Central Village

Central Village Common Room is fully wheelchair accessible.


How this event will run: This is an optional event tickets are not required, run by the Central Village Wardens. At this event you will hear essential information about joining the Residence Life Social Committee Programme. At the end of the presentation the warden will be able to answer any questions you may have. 

Board games Night 

Tuesday 30th September 7pm

Central Village Common Room 

Meet new people from your accommodation and play boardgames

Central Village Common Room is fully wheelchair accessible.


How this event will run: This is an optional event and tickets are not required. You will be able to join at any time, and you can expect a chill evening with a range of boardgames. You can choose what games to take part in and you will be able to leave at any time.

Free Coffee at Central Village

Wednesday 1st October 8am 

Central Village Courtyard

Free hot drinks

Central Village courtyard is fully wheelchair accessible.


How this event will run: This is an optional event and tickets are not required. Free coffee will be distributed from 8am. You will have an opportunity to meet and socialise with the students living in Central Village. 


Guide Dogs Visit

Thursday 2nd October 4.30pm - 6pm 

Central Village Common Room

Come and meet retired guide dogs for some pet therapy!

Central Village Common Room is fully wheelchair accessible.


How this event will run: This is an optional event and tickets are not required. At this event you can expect to meet 2 or 3 guide dogs. You will be able to socialise with the dogs and pet them. You will be able to join at any time between 4:30pm - 6pm and you can leave at any time.
