Welcome to Shared Housing and the university of Leeds

Hi, I'm Imran and I'm your warden for Shared Housing

I have been at the university for over 4 years, and this is my 3rd year as a warden! I studied economics and finance at university many years ago, and while I enjoy working with numbers and spreadsheets, I take huge pleasure in meeting people from all different backgrounds and supporting them.

In my free time I love to take long walks all around the country. I am apart of a walking club, and I try to go for long walk every Sunday. I love walking in the countryside and have climbed both Mount Snowdon and Ben Nevis. I also enjoy sports, especially cricket. In my spare time I also do a lot of charity work and fundraising for causes close to my heart.

My role as warden is to support, guide, and ensure you have a fantastic time living at halls, while also keeping you safe and looked after. Throughout your time at the Uni I will be here to help you with any issues that may arise, and also so general signposting to other organisations and teams at the Uni. Additionally, If you have any issues in your flat, please email me personally as I am available throughout the week!

Shared Housing is a very unique community and is a home away from home. All Shared Housing is a 5 minute walk away from campus, which means you have incredibly easy access to all of the Universities great facilities such as the Student Union, cafes, co op, pubs, and more! It also means that the city centre is only a 15 minute walk away as well!

Since you are on campus, there is 24/7 security. As well as this, you will also be able to use the SafeZone app, which allows you to contact security in an instant if you are ever feeling unsafe. However, I do recommend that you save security's number in you phone just in case: 0113 343 2222

Throughout the year we have a residence life social committee - RLSC. They help to hold lots of events for Sentinel Towers and help to create a true community within the hall. Anyone can apply to be apart of the social committee and it is a great opportunity for individuals to meet other residents who they may not live with. During freshers week, myself and the RLAs will be available, where we will be holding various events where you can elect themselves to join their own club or society.

I can't wait to see you all in September!
